Recently, BPO.MP was honored to participate in the “Da Nang Digital Economy Development Workshop 2025”, an important event organized by the Da Nang People’s Committee. The workshop gathered leading experts, representatives from ministries and sectors, and key city leaders to discuss and shape the roadmap for Digital Economy development, aiming for an ambitious goal: achieving 40% GRDP from the Digital Economy by 2025. Speaking at the workshop, leaders emphasized the importance of the Digital Economy not only for Da Nang but also for the entire Central region and Vietnam. With the future establishment of the International Financial Center and the Free Trade Zone, Da Nang will play a pivotal role in spreading the values of digital transformation and fostering the national digital economy.
Compared to other countries in Southeast Asia, Vietnam in general and Da Nang in particular are making steady progress, learning from the experiences of pioneering countries like Singapore and Malaysia to accelerate this process. Focusing on data, digital infrastructure, and high-quality human resources were key points highlighted by the experts.
The “Positioning” Role of Data in the Digital Era
One common point agreed upon by speakers at the workshop was: data is the most valuable asset of the Digital Economy. Raw data, much like an untapped ore mine, needs to be processed, cleaned, and especially labeled accurately to become valuable information, providing “fuel” for Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning systems.
