On the morning of November 30, BPO.MP Co., Ltd. participated in the seminar titled “Developing Information Technology Human Resources in Da Nang,” organized by the Da Nang Investment Promotion and Support Board, with nearly 100 domestic and international delegates in attendance.

The seminar aimed to implement solutions for developing high-quality human resources in the information technology sector within the city, as part of the Project “Promoting Investment Attraction in Da Nang for the 2021–2025 Period, with Vision to 2030.” It served as a forum for sharing information, exchanging ideas, and proposing policies and solutions to develop and improve the quality of high-level IT human resources that meet recruitment demands of businesses and investors. Additionally, it aimed to foster connections among state management agencies, training institutions, associations, and IT human resource users toward the shared goal of enhancing workforce quality across the city.

In her opening speech, Vice Chairwoman of Da Nang People’s Committee, Ms. Ngo Thi Kim Yen, stated that in 2021, the city’s information and communication technology (ICT) industry grew by 10.47% and contributed 8.23% to the city’s GRDP.

In 2022, the total revenue of the city’s Information and Communication sector was estimated at VND 34,293 billion, reaching 103.4% of the set plan, an increase of 9.6% compared to the same period in 2021.

Software export turnover reached USD 110 million, fulfilling 100% of the plan and increasing by 11.8% compared to the same period in 2021. Notably, according to the Digital Transformation Index report by the Ministry of Information and Communications, Da Nang’s digital economy in 2021 contributed 12.57% to the city’s GRDP (higher than the national average of 9.6%).

During the seminar, experts and representatives from relevant departments and agencies discussed key topics such as the potential for IT development, demand for human resources, collaboration between educational institutions and businesses, recruitment and training experiences, training partnerships, and community-building within the IT sector.

They also expressed hope that Da Nang City will implement timely solutions to develop a high-quality information and communications technology (ICT) workforce, in alignment with the city’s master plan “Promoting Investment Attraction in Da Nang for the 2021–2025 Period, with Vision to 2030.”

Currently, Da Nang has approximately 44,000 IT workers, the majority of whom are concentrated in the software and digital content sectors. According to projections from the city’s master planning project, during the 2022–2025 period, the city needs to add at least 7,500 IT workers per year, and from 2026 to 2030, this number increases to 8,000 workers annually. However, more importantly, quantity must go hand in hand with quality.
