BPO.MP ATTENDS TECH TALKS CONFERENCE AND TECH AWARDS CEREMONY IN HO CHI MINH CITY

On January 8, 2020, BPO.MP representatives attended the Tech Talks Conference and the 2019 Tech Awards Ceremony in Ho Chi Minh City, organized by VnExpress.

Within the framework of the conference, experts discussed 5G technology and security issues in a connected world.

The Tech Talks Conference attracted many businesses in the field of information technology.

In his opening speech, journalist Bui Thanh Van – Head of VnExpress Digitalization Department and Head of the Tech Awards 2019 Organizing Committee – shared that this year’s forum aimed to provide a platform to showcase new products and technologies, and to discuss prominent issues in the tech world closely related to daily life such as Smart Living, Smart Home, and cybersecurity. Tech Talks 2019 focused on 5G and security. We are living in an era of high-speed mobile connectivity, not only connecting smartphones but also IoT devices.

The conference began with the presentation “How 5G Will Change the World” by Mr. Michael MacDonald – Chief Digital Officer and Chief Consultant of Huawei Southeast Asia.

With the theme “Security in the 5G World,” Mr. Vo Do Thang – Director of the Athena Cyber Security and Risk Warning Center – energized the audience with his in-depth insights into common risks in the 5G world.

Following that was a debate between Mr. Vo Do Thang and journalist Duc Hoang from VnExpress’s Perspective section, providing many interesting perspectives on “Security Risk Warnings in the 5G World.”

Mr. Nguyen Tu Quang – Chairman of Bkav – presented on “Deepfake – A New Threat in the Internet World.”

Next was a presentation by Mr. Nguyen Minh Duc – CEO of CyRadar – on “Security Threats from AI.”

The final session was a highly anticipated discussion between Mr. Nguyen Tu Quang and journalist Duc Hoang about the societal threats posed by deepfake technology.

Tech Awards 2019 Ceremony

Tech Awards is an annual event organized by VnExpress Digital since 2012 to honor outstanding technology devices of the year, bringing direct value to consumers.

“Tech Awards is one of the very few prestigious and valuable technology awards in Vietnam today.”

Outstanding products at Tech Awards 2019 were honored in the categories of smartphones, laptops, TVs, watches, true wireless headphones, and home appliance brands.

The ceremony concluded with the impressive presentation of the “Most Popular Smartphone of 2019” award.

This conference also provided BPO.MP an opportunity to update and expand its knowledge on applying Industry 4.0 technologies into real-world production, business, and daily life. It also served as a platform for networking and connecting with potential partners from across the country.
