HOKKAIDO FESTIVAL IN HA LONG: STRENGTHENING VIETNAM – JAPAN RELATIONS

Hokkaido festival in Ha Long – a bridge for cultural exchange, economic and tourism cooperation between vietnam and japan

The Hokkaido Festival is taking place in Ha Long City, Quang Ninh Province, from November 17 to 19, aiming to promote cultural exchange, economic ties, and tourism cooperation between Vietnam and Japan.

Festival events are being held at 30th October Square and the Quang Ninh Planning, Fair and Exhibition Palace (Hong Hai Ward, Ha Long City). The festival is part of a series of celebrations marking the 50th and 60th anniversaries of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan, as well as the 60th founding anniversary of Quang Ninh Province (October 30, 1963 – 2023).

On this occasion, the People’s Committee of Quang Ninh Province and the Government of Hokkaido will sign a comprehensive cooperation agreement to further strengthen the enduring relationship between the two sides, with the aim of promoting economic growth in both provinces.

The Hokkaido Festival in Ha Long features a series of dynamic activities, including the Quang Ninh – Japan Investment Promotion Conference, a Vietnamese and Japanese Culinary Exhibition, street art performances, a seminar on cultural-tourism relations and human resources development, and a friendly golf tournament, among others.

This year’s festival events are designed to showcase the rich cultural traditions of both Quang Ninh and Hokkaido in particular, as well as the broader cultural heritage of Vietnam and Japan. The festival also aims to attract more international tourists to Vietnam through cross-cultural engagement and exchange.
